Hoppbox - Healthy Snacks from Switzerland

2:15 PM

Healthy Snacks made easy is the motto of Hoppbox!

I was recently introduced to Hoppbox, a young company based in Geneva/Switzerland, that has decided to make healthy snacks and sell them in controlled portions. The snacks are healthy with fruits and nuts without compromising on taste

"Like many people we speak to, we had a case of bad-snacking, the hunger pangs of mid morning and at 4-5pm were doing us no good. Sugar crashes, low energy… and one day our trousers were feeling quite a bit tighter than they used to.

So we Decided to Make Healthy Snacking Great Again!

Portion controlled, nutritionist designed, full-of-goodness super snacks delivered straight to your home or office! Our mission is simple:"

“To help you lead a more fulfilling life through improved health”

Hoppbox has also partnered with the Fondation Foyer Handicap to help the people there find a place in the world of work.

Hoppbox is a snacking subscription service that you can pause or cancel anytime. There is a weekly or bi-weekly suscription option. Each box costs 9 CHF (shipping included). If you chose the weekly subscription, this means that once a week you will receive a box of 4 healthy snacks and each box you will received will contain different snacks so that you'll be able to try a variety of different products.
EDIT: They send in Switzerland and everywhere in the world!

If you don't like subscription boxes, you can get a single portion at Pouly Boulangerie in Geneva. I'm not sure if this is available for a limited amount of time though.

EDIT: The snacks will also be available very soon in Pouly Gennève Gare Cornavin, Nyon, Yverdon, Neuchâtel, Monthey, and Lausanne.

They also offer options for companies (see their "business solutions" tab), for small or larger companies.

So I got a box to try with 4 snacks in it. I must say that I really enjoyed how the snacks are packaged, it's really easy to take one in your bag and bring it with you at work for example. And the amount of fruits, chocolate and nuts inside is indeed just enough to boost your day when you start feeling tired.

  • Cherry Au Top: Cherries infused with apple juice, pecan, dark chocolate. OK, I think this one was my favorite. I loved the cherries which were not too acidic but gave a refreshing kick and they fit well with the delicious dark chocolate (my favorite type of chocolate) plus the pecans were nice, too.
  • Copacabanana: Pineapple, banana, coconut. I'm not a fan of coconut so I gave it to my coworker who said the snack was nice.
  • Banana Pecan Crunch: banana, almond, pecan.  Another one I really liked. Everything tasted good and the banana were different from what I expected. Most of the time when you buy dried bananas, they are soft and chewy but here they were crunchy. I didn't expect this and I actually really liked how crunchy they were. My coworker also told me that they tasted and felt exactly how his grandma used to make dried bananas :D
  • Made By Mum: pumpkin seeds, sultana, walnut. This one is more classic for me, because I usually like eating sultanas and pumpkin seeds as a snack, but they tasted good.

Overall, I really like the idea of healthier snacks and that each snack is prepared and packed in Geneva. I also like supporting young local companies when they come up with great ideas and that's why I like Hoppbox! And most importantly the snacks are good and tasty! I like the variety of fruits, nuts and chocolate!

If you have ideas for new snacks, they are very open and love to hear customer's feedback, you can send them a mail at info@hoppbox.com.

Personally what other snacks would I love to see? mmm...maybe more fruits? like uncommon fruits you can't find dried in your supermarket easily, like kiwis (I don't even know if it's possible to dry kiwis and make them tasty but I love kiwis), strawberries, blueberries, peaches, pears? and what about dried veggies like carrots?...I don't know if this would be a good idea, what do you, guys, think?
I just checked and I've seen they do have snacks with strawberries :D
